Coaches Recruitment Announcement


We are excited to announce that Hong Kong International Coaching Community (HKICC) will collaborate with Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) of The University of Hong Kong to launch the second round of the Pro-Bono Career Coaching Project to support the new coaches in developing their profession by enhancing their coaching skills.

We cordially invite our member coaches to be volunteers; help spread coaching to the community and demonstrate the effectiveness of coaching by helping the Campus Students clarify and have confidence in their career planning.


About Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) at HKU

The Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) provides comprehensive and student-centred resources and outside classroom learning opportunities for student’s development. They help create a congenial environment conducive to student’s studies and overall development.
Starting 2015, CEDARS eagerly support the students with coaching services offered by the member coaches of HKICC, and believe that it will bring them an inspirational experience and effect.


About Benefits to HKICC Coaches

To network coaches to support the campus student participants to set up and clarify their career goals, to unleash their potentials and to reduce their interferences. Our free career coaching service acts as a bonus and catalyst for developing their voluntarism and community participation.


Outline of the 2016 HKICC / HKU Cedars Pro-Bono Career Coaching Project

Objectives:
Promote coaching to campus students of The University of Hong Kong.
Support the participants of the Career Coaching Project through helping them to set up, clarify, and come up with action plans for their career goals.

Target Coachees:
Year 3 and Year 4 students who want to clarify and have confidence about their career planning.


Program Content:
Coaching Tasting after the Coaching Talk on 26/2/2016 - Provision of one to two 30 minutes face-to-face coaching services to the participants of the Talk.

Provision of one student per coach with 6 one-hour career coaching services in mixed mode, combining face to face and phone coaching to the participants of the Career Coaching Project.
 

Project Key Timeline:

  1. Coaching Talk with Coaching Tasting: on 26/2/2016 (Fri) around 6:45pm to 9:00pm in The University of Hong Kong
  2. Coaching Service in mixed mode: late March to end of June, 2016
  3. The first coaching session is scheduled to be on March 30 or 31, 2016 around 6:30pm to 8:00pm in HKU Campus for administration such as signing of coaching agreements so please also reserve your time for that.
     

Coaches Selection Criteria:
Recruitment of around 15 coaches (including Cantonese and English speaking) from HKICC members:

  1. Fluent Cantonese for Chinese, and English
  2. Commitment to fulfill all coaching sessions and participation in the meetings scheduled for briefing, sharing and evaluation of the project.
  3. Priority may be given to those who submit their application forms earlier.
  4. Priority may also be given to those who are able to attend the Coaching Tasting on 26/2/2016.
  5. Priority may also be given to those who are able to attend the first coaching session on 30/3/2016 or 31/3/2016.
  6. Number of coaches matched depending on the number of participants joining this project and
  7. If coaches application exceeds the number of coaching opportunities available, those not matched will be considered in the next round or other projects in similar nature in the future.

We are excited to announce that Hong Kong International Coaching Community (HKICC) will collaborate with Everbright Project of Caritas Family Crisis Support Centre again to launch the fifth round of Pro-Bono Life Coaching Project. Due to the success of last projects and promising feedback from coaches and coachees, China Everbright Charitable Foundation Co. Ltd. will continue to sponsor this remarkable project.

We cordially invite our member coaches to be volunteers to spread coaching to the community and to demonstrate the effectiveness of coaching to help the middle-class individuals.

About Everbright Project (再晴計劃) of Caritas Family Crisis Support Centre
Caritas Family Crisis Support Centre is a branch of a large local Non-Government Organization. In addition to its main work helping the clients with counseling, Everbright Project targets to support middle class families and individuals and it was introduced in 2009. According to the supervisor, who is a very experienced counselor, “the successful pilot-run of the previous project encouraged me to expand the project scope with continuing support from HKICC and sponsorship fromChina Everbright Charitable Foundation Co. Ltd.”

About Benefits to HKICC Coaches
Participants can network with other coaches and other professionals to support the middle class participants to set their life goals, to unleash their potentials and to reduce their interferences. Our pro bono life coaching service acts as a bonus and catalyst for developing their voluntarism and community participation.

Outline of the 2015 HKICC / Caritas Everbright Pro-Bono Life Coaching Project

Objectives:

  1. To promote coaching to middle class clients of Everbright Project of Caritas Family Crisis Support Centre.
  2. To support the participants of the Caritas Everbright Project through strength building and healthy lifestyle establishment in different life stages such as career development, relationship development, family establishment and children nurturing.

Target Coachees:
Middle class individuals who are willing to get motivated in developing their utmost capacity to achieve a better quality of life.

Program Content:

  1. Coaching Tasting after the Coaching Talk - Provision of one to two 30 minutes face-to-face life coaching services to the participants of the Talk.
  2. Provision of 5-6 one-hour life coaching services in mixed mode, combining face-to-face and phone coaching to the participants of the Everbright Project.
  3. Peer learning session(s) and/or mentoring may be arranged.


Coaches Selection Criteria:
Recruitment of around 12-15 coaches from HKICC professional members:

  1. Fluent Cantonese.
  2. Minimum one year experience in coaching.
  3. Commitment to fulfill all coaching sessions and participation in the meetings scheduled for briefing, sharing and evaluation of the project.


Project Key Timeline:

  1. Coaching Talk: on 26/9/2015 (Saturday) from 2:15pm to 5:15pm in Caritas Kowloon Community Hall, 3/F, 256A Prince Edward Road, Kowloon.
  2. Coaching Service in mixed mode: from October to December, 2015.

Matching of voluntary coaches and Caritas’ participants:

  2. Number of coaches matched will depend on the number of participants joining this project. Preference will be given to those who are also able to attend the Coaching Talk on 26/9/2015.
  3. If the number of coaches application exceeds the number of coaching opportunities available, those not matched will be considered in next round or other projects of similar nature in the future.

Nicholas Wai The Executive Vice President ably supports the President through her role as the President and takes over as acting President in the President's absence. The Executive Vice President also fields members requests and channels it to the right HKICC Team member. The Executive Vice President will oversee members promotions of their work through our Joint Venture program.

Carole Lewis The Secretary is responsible for overseeing administration and to ensure that HKICC complies with the Companies Ordinance and other statutory filing requirements and internal governance issues.

Jeremy Stunt The Treasurer is responsible for all HKICC finances, tracking income and expenditure and reporting on such as required. The Treasurer is responsible for ensuring that we are on budget and that HKICC maintains a healthy and balanced financial position.

The VP Coach Development is responsible for envisioning training, seminars and events towards developing and promoting coaching amongst our member and would-be coaches. The VP Coach Development plans, schedules and hosts the valuable monthly Coach Development meetings.
VP Community Coaching Charles Chau The VP Community Coaching is responsible for promoting coaching mainly in non-commercial sectors like NGOs, schools etc. The VP Community Coaching is in charge of HKICC's coaching projects to raise the profile of coaching in the community and to bring greater exposure for our members.

VP Events and Pubic Relations

Zoe Conlin The VP Events and Public Relations is responsible for reaching out to the public and making HKICC known in the community through media and partnerships. The VP Events and Public also heads up the Events Committee and is responsible for the creation and planning of a variety of HKICC events.
VP Marketing NG Hon Wai

The VP Marketing is in charge of all marketing initiatives, creating, planning and executing marketing programs to boost the profile of HKICC. The VP Marketing is also responsible for measuring and tweaking our marketing strategy to achieve the best results.

Anthony Cheng The VP Membership oversees all queries relating to members and member benefits. The VP Membership also manages the Find a Coach page on the website and answer queries about the coaching categories.
