Mindfulness - based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Course

A poll recently conducted of 400 coaches mainly in Europe and US showed the following results:

  • 99 percent of the coaches who responded “believe that mindfulness is important to coaching”
  • 69 percent of coaches personally have a “significant on-going commitment to mindfulness or some other body-mind practice”
  • 51 percent of coaches “explicitly integrate mindfulness or other similar practice into their work with clients”

The stunning impact of mindfulness as a super-competency which underpins presence, resilience, emotional balance, mental effectiveness and well-being is no longer news.
More than any other single skill a coach can learn, mindfulness training supports your embodiment of the “way of being” of a professional coach.  In particular, mindfulness training supports your (and your clients’) creativity, resourcefulness, presence, kindness and non-judging stance, capacity for professional intimacy, gravitas, resilience, curiosity and ability to “create awareness” and design powerful questions, in the moment.  You don't need to “do anything different” you will just notice over time that these capacities are developing.

Developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and colleagues at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre, MBSR is based on a form of meditation known popularly as "mindfulness meditation".  Much more than a stress reduction program, participants report life-changing benefits from participation in the course.  The majority of the more than 4500 papers on the benefits of mindfulness have been conducted on the MBSR program.

Mindfulness practice cultivates the clarity, insight and awareness that leads to an incredible range of benefits.  This course helps you navigate the highly pressured and always-on modern world successfully, be resilient and better able to make optimal choices both at work and in your personal life.

Over the past 30 years, scientific research all over the world suggest that training in MBSR can positively and often profoundly affect participants' ability to live life fully even in the midst of difficulties, to reduce "psychological distress" and "automatic reactivity" and thereby bring one's best self to each moment of their lives.
