Panel Discussion on the Needs and Trends of Coaching in the Corporate Environment from an HR and Leadership & Development Perspective
The Training Journal finds that individual coaching and team coaching are the top leadership development tools for businesses and that a majority of them intend to make use of coaching with external coaches being preferred for senior management. This need has been emphasized by the realization that so-called “soft skills” like emotional intelligence, effective interpersonal skills and empathic behaviour are just as important as business acumen in driving results.
Our 4 panelists are:
Leanne Chan is the HR Manager, APAC at First Advantage. She is also an accredited coach of International Coaching Federation. Leanne is passionate about coaching and is active members of various coaching associations. She coaches internally focusing on building performance management coaching culture. Leanne is also the global Board of Governor of International Association of Coaching, and the President of HK Chapter. Leanne holds a masters in HRM from Macquarie University, Australia.
Leanne is a career & leadership coach serving both on campus and in corporations leveraging her corporate talent management experience plus her interest in young people’s aspirations. Drawing on over 10 years of a value-added human resources professional in multinational corporations, provides HR consultancy to senior executives and leaders on talent management and leadership coaching in Hong Kong and the Asia Pacific region.
Gurpreet Grewal is currently the Head of Talent and Leadership Development at Generali Asia. She is an HR specialist who has worked in the consulting and financial services industry. She is presently responsible for the Talent and Leadership agenda of Generali in Asia. Gurpreet has run development centers for over 150 leaders (CEO-1) across 8 countries and 10 entities in Asia followed by 1:1 coaching. Gurpreet holds a double master degree in Management and Economics from the Delhi School of Economics and is an ICF accredited executive coach.
Leigh Chattington is responsible for Talent and Organisational development in Asia Pacific for Bloomberg. Leigh joined Bloomberg’s Talent Development Team in London in 2014 and then relocated to Asia in April 2016. Previously, Leigh worked as a management consultant and executive coach in the UK. She discovered a keen interest in coaching after completing training with Result's Coaching Systems in 2008. She currently partners with Bloomberg's Financial Products business based in Hong Kong. She has a wealth of experience in coaching, consulting and talent development, and is passionate about the coaching work that is done at Bloomberg.
Helena Green is a leadership development specialist and is presently the Head of Leadership Development and Team Effectiveness at Standard Chartered Bank. She holds a BA in Theology from the University of Durham, a PG Diploma in HRM from Napier University, and is an accredited EMCC coach.
Lola Chetti incoming VP for Coach Development, will moderate this discussion on the needs and trends for coaching in the corporate environment. Lola is a Change Consultant and Executive Coach. Lola is a Professional Certified Coach and holds a Master degree with distinction in Consulting and Coaching for Change from INSEAD. Following a career in the judiciary, Lola has coached extensively in the corporate environment in Asia, specializing in the coaching of Senior executives and members of the “C” suite; and designing executive education training. Lola’s coaching career began as a volunteer social worker and stems from a deeply held belief that when people are able to tap into their emotional drivers and that they get adequate support and knowledge, there is no limit to their growth and development. She is presently registered for a diploma in Coaching Supervision.
