A full house at HKICC’s first Coach Development Program in 2020! Thank you Coach Katerina Kirillova-Stanley’s insightful sharing on Metaphorical Associative card (MAC), a tool which has been adopted by psychotherapists to work within coachees’ emotional, mental and physical spheres creating a free, secure and non judgemental environment.
Participants got to understand the theoretical foundation of MAC and were given practical algorithms of the cards for their self transformation.
Also welcome our 5 new members!
We are grateful to have Angela Spaxman (our Founding Member) to facilitate the discussions and guide us through.
What a passionate, energetic and committed group here spending a day to review our goals, to strategise what are the priorities for 2020 & beyond, and to nail what we need to get done soon!

Nicholas Wai, our President and Stanley Chiu, our VP External Affairs was recently interviewed by Insight Media. They shared with us what’s really about coaching and how coaching can help people in their life, career and to be a better person. It is a 3-min video and you would gain some insights from it. Please enjoy!
Dear members and friends,
I cannot believe it’s already April and the second quarter of 2019. We at HKICC has been taking on the challenges of creating a more relevant and sustainable community for you. I am happy to report that we have made encouraging progress and anticipating lots more to come.
As President who serves the International Coaching Community in Hong Kong, I feel very strongly about the importance of having a strong and supportive community, as I and my fellow coaches would agree, that we would not be where we are without the support of each other, learning and having fun together, and most importantly the help we get when we face challenges, picking us up to do better all over again.
That’s why we started hosting the Coaches’ Roundtable in February this year for both experienced and novice coaches to share wisdom on a different coaching topic. We have also initiated a Coaching Lab from late March for new Cantonese speaking coaches to support them in their coaching journey. Last but not least, the very popular Let it Shine Series has been enhanced and will be brought back in May this year for those who have learned coaching skills and are looking to learn how to start their coaching careers and businesses.
There’s more:
Now a call for help: to effectively execute these activities, we need more hands than the board members and VPs who work tirelessly to build this community for you. Please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you can spare your time to help build the coaching community:
Please join us in putting our initiatives to work for you, our members and community, learning and growing together.
Starting from this president message we would also like to showcase one of our board members or VPs every time. Our first feature will be on Elsa Tang, our Treasurer and much more:
The Committee of HKICC wishes you a Year of Prosperity, Joy and Well-being!
Please watch out for more upcoming news about our activities and events this year. We love to hear more from the members and the community how we can support you from the perspective of professional coaching development, enhancement of industry and practising standards, and the collaborations with the industry players, corporates and associates.

Dear HKICC members and friends,
Looking at the simmering harbour while writing this on a lazy Saturday afternoon, I feel blessed and thankful for this rare moment of peace and tranquillity as we approach the end of 2018, a memorable and eventful year for me. I am very honoured to be the interim President of the HKICC, excited to be married to Vanessa in May, and to top it all off, am expecting a new family member in the coming few months.
As I start thinking about how to get ready for our little one, we at HKICC is also busy thinking about the changes and refinements we need to make to better serve you our members. Trailing on the success of our cosy and warm Christmas Party a few weeks ago (many thanks go to Noor in co-ordinating this, who sadly will be stepping out as VP of Strategic Planning to concentrate on developing her business) , we are planning a first-ever Chinese New Year gathering (tentatively on the evening of Thursday, 21 February 2019 so please mark your calendar) to welcome the Year of the Pig with exciting new initiatives for new and experienced coaches:
With our many initiatives we are continually looking for passionate and proactive members to be either project leads or VPs to help us better serve your community. If you are interested or have any suggestions please do let us know.
I look forward to a fruitful year ahead at HKICC, and I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a healthy, rewarding New Year.
Regards
Nicholas Wai
Interim President, HKICC
Ps: join us in advocating professional coaching!
All of us on the HKICC Management team hope that you are having a great start to the year and wish you peace and joy during the upcoming Chinese New Year holiday.
We have 2 special announcements we would like to make before the holiday starts:
New Mentor Coaching Initiative
New VP Positions Available – Call to Action
