Coach Profile

My coaching supports individuals seeking clarity in times of confusion. I am at your service as thoughtful eyes, ears, cheerleader, and questioner every step of the way. I support individuals holistically who are often in transition – career transitions, seeking higher education, geographic transitions, and more – and/or living at the interface of careers and cultures. I am able to provide coaching online internationally and in-person for individuals who are also in Hong Kong.

My recent specialty is a full suite of coaching for individuals with science and research interests and backgrounds. Scientists, like any professional, face various challenges – including research strategy; communicating their work in reports, manuscripts, in small meetings and big occasions like a Ph.D. defense; effective communication with colleagues, collaborators, and their supervisors; and balancing career and life goals. If any of that applies to you, you might have felt overwhelmed, ambivalent, or a little lost about working through it at times. You are not alone. Your coach partners with you to understand your situation and to help you work through the right decisions for your needs. More about me – I grew up at the interface of cultures, born to a blond-haired blue-eyed father and Cantonese-speaking mother. I was raised and schooled in North America speaking Cantonese. Including my Ph.D. in chemistry, I spent 17 years in scientific research across three continents while remaining an avid choral singer and lover of nature, traveling, and languages. I studied physical chemistry, worked in nanotechnology, and served as a research assistant professor in Life Sciences at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology until 2019. Professionally and personally, seemingly disparate identities have always coexisted in me.

If any of this resonates with you, please get in touch, I would love to learn more about you and see if I can help you feel more at ease moving forward with all the important and unique things you do!
