Dear HKICC members and friends,
Welcome to 2025 and the year of snake at the end of the month. Snake is about transformation, letting go of what you’ve grown out of, and letting come of what you need to learn and grow into in your next phase of development towards wisdom and maturity. This transformation symbolizes our work as coaches with our clients and also our development as a coach. As most of us have experienced, this journey is not without its pain and challenges but it’s working through them, overcoming them, and reflecting and appreciating them at the other end of the abyss that we grow and leap towards the next cycle of our own hero’s journey.
HKICC as an organization is going through that journey too, together with you and walking side by side with you. You might have noticed this new format we have in our communication with you. Going forward we’ll have a Quarterly Connect that gives you a big picture view of where we are heading as a community, a Monthly Bulletin that briefs you on our learning and development activities that you want to join or contribute to, and a Weekly Snapshot of reminders and highlights. We hope these changes would help you engage with the community better and also encourage community learning and contribution.
In terms of events we will continue to develop programmes that promote coaching mindset in our greater eco-system of coaching including coaches, coaching partners, sponsors, intermediaries, education providers and accreditation organisations. The Coaching Lifecycle series will continue with topics to help you better manage your coaching business, and the special interest group on education will start to engage with schools in Hong Kong with opportunities for members to contribute. You can also expect an event organized by and for new coaches as they get their footing in the process, as well as activities on advanced coaching geared more for the more experienced coaches. Hope to see you in many of our initiatives and please help us to reach out to the wider community by bringing a friend or forwarding this post.
And we could not have made these transformations that are full of energy of renewal and hope without your participation and contribution of love and labour. I would especially like to thank our incredible team Vipul, Leona, Rainbow, Venus, Michael, Yvonne and Henry, as well as Season, Jack and Karen to make these all happen.
