Nicholas is passionate about bringing out the best in people and their organisations by tapping into the under-utilised knowledge and resources often lying under the radar in individuals and teams. He helps them recover these resources and connect them to individual vision and organisational goals, as well as finding clarity and focus, and clearing obstacles and interferences in pursuing these goals.
Nicholas’ passion in coaching stems from his own experience in personal transformation that saw him re-examining his career and life priorities and taking bold steps in re-aligning and realising his personal and career visions. Before becoming a coach, Nicholas has more than ten years of experience in various management positions in leading teams and managing P&L at one of the largest international banking groups in Hong Kong, and also as Finance Director at his family textile and garment business in Indonesia. His experiences in both large multinational and local entrepreneurial businesses help him quickly grasp the context and challenges of his clients.
Nicholas has been coaching entrepreneurs, high-potential executives and senior leaders since 2011 in a broad range of industries including Finance, Insurance, Real Estate, Industrial Multinationals, Consumer Products, Logistics, Family Businesses, and International Business Schools. Nicholas specialises in partnering with his clients in making self-discoveries of blind spots and hidden resources not only in themselves but also in their stakeholder network and context, seeing the bigger picture while not forgetting the details, and co-creating development plan and action steps to achieve their individual and organisational goals. Clients often remark on their improved communication and relationship with their team members, superiors, peers and themselves as a result.
Currently a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coach Federation (ICF) and a Senior Practitioner (SP) with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC), Nicholas has a Master of Organisational Coaching from the University of Sydney and an MBA from London Business School, and is also a CFA charter holder and a CPA (Australia). Placing high importance on continuous development, Nicholas is a Certified HoganDevelop Practitioner, an Accredited Harrison Assessment Practitioner, an Accredited Strengths Profile Practitioner, a Certified Everything DiSC® Trainer, an Accredited Team Management Profile Practitioner, as well as a Qualified 4-D Systems Coach & Facilitator. He has also just completed Stage 1 of the Oxford Brookes’ Advanced Professional Programme in Coaching Supervision.
